Construction of Chongqing's first prefabricated building museum has started

On August 25, the Chongqing Municipal Commission of Housing and Urban-Rural Development announced that the construction of Chongqing's first prefabricated museum in Dianjiang County, Chongqing City has started. The museum will integrate new prefabricated building technologies, new materials, new crafts, and new experiences.

The museum is located in the Guorui Green Building Industrial Park in Dianjiang County, Chongqing. The industrial park project was signed at the Smart Expo in 2019. It is planned to cover an area of 1,200 acres and has a total investment of 5 billion yuan. The overall plan focuses on "green building" as the core concept, and creates a model of "integration of production, education and research, and development of industrial clusters".

The industrial park project will create two highlight projects. The first is to create a construction industry ecosystem integrating "production, study, research and application". The second is a green building industry chain with prefabricated buildings, new building materials, building smart equipment, and building smart life as its core industries.

According to Xia Shuangwu, general manager of Chongqing Dianjiang Construction Co., Ltd. of Yujian Construction Industry, construction of the prefabricated building museum in the industrial park has started. The Prefabricated Building Industry Research Institute has also started. This is a prefabricated building industry-university-research cooperation established with domestic professional institutions such as the China Academy of Building Research and the China Building Standard Design and Research Institute. 

At the same time, the industrial park will also jointly establish a national construction laboratory and a western inspection center with the National Inspection Center to build a prefabricated construction enterprise headquarters base and attract the industry's top BIM design and application, technology research and development, and construction technology innovation companies to settle in.

"We will take the lead in establishing a national headquarters and technology research and development center in the park, and jointly develop industrial science and technology talent cultivation with Chongqing universities, and establish a green building innovation center and a national prefabricated building industrialization practice base."

Xia Shuangwu revealed that it will use the company's own technological advantages to implement prefabricated construction projects, build a leading green ecological low-carbon building demonstration project and a national green building demonstration park, promote high-quality economic development, and become a national construction industrialization demonstration base.

The Chongqing Municipal Commission of Housing and Urban-Rural Development issued the "Key Points of Construction Technology and Foreign Cooperation in 2021" in June this year. It is required to focus on the development of prefabricated buildings, accelerate the modernization of the construction industry in Chongqing, and promote the improvement of construction level and building quality. This year, Chongqing will strive to start construction of more than 15 million square meters of prefabricated buildings.
