The promotion of green buildings in Xiamen City, Fujian Province has exceeded 20 million square meters

The reporter learned from the Xiamen Municipal Construction Bureau that in recent years, Xiamen has actively implemented the National Green Building Action Plan and achieved a series of rich results.

In January 2014, the "Xiamen City Green Building Action Implementation Plan" was released, and Xiamen City continued to implement green building actions in depth. Since 2015, the city's newly constructed civil buildings have achieved 100% compliance with green building standards, and the city has promoted more than 20 million square meters of green buildings. In addition, in November 2015, Xiamen City promulgated the "Interim Management Measures for the Financial Incentives for Green Buildings in Xiamen City", which provides financial incentives for civil buildings that actively implement green building standards and obtain operational marks on the stock of land. During the "Thirteenth Five-Year Plan" period, Xiamen City has issued a total of over 200 million yuan in green building financial rewards.

In recent years, Xiamen City has completed the construction of key cities for the energy-saving transformation of public buildings and successfully passed the acceptance of the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development. It has implemented a total of 3.04 million square meters of demonstration projects for energy-saving transformation of public buildings. The average energy-saving rate of urban energy-saving renovation is 23.2%, which can save about 57.2 million kilowatt-hours of electricity each year and reduce 43,800 tons of carbon dioxide emissions.

During the "13th Five-Year Plan" period, a total of 3.6266 million square meters of energy-saving renovation of public buildings were completed, exceeding the 1.9 million square meters of renovation tasks assigned by the provincial government, and the total completed ranked first in the province. It is reported that Xiamen is the only city in the province that achieves full coverage of green concrete production and management, with a 100% star-level compliance rate for green concrete production, which ranks among the best in the country.

In March of this year, five departments including the Municipal Construction Bureau and the Municipal Development and Reform Commission jointly issued the "Implementation Plan for Green Building Creation Action in Xiamen City" to carry out green building creation actions throughout the city. The people actively participated in the creation of green buildings and formed a social atmosphere that advocates green living.
