Fujian Province will carry out comprehensive renovation of 1,014 old communities, which will benefit 164,300 residents

Recently, the Fujian Provincial Department of Finance issued 115 million yuan of central subsidy funds for the renovation of old communities. So far, this year Fujian Province has allocated a total of 1.409 billion yuan for the renovation of old communities above the province level, and all of the funds for the central subsidy have also been issued.

Funds are mainly used to support old communities to improve supporting infrastructure such as water supply, drainage, and roads, as well as supporting public service facilities in communities and surrounding areas such as pension, childcare, barrier-free, and convenience services.

This year, Fujian Province will carry out comprehensive renovation of 1,014 old communities built before 2000, which is expected to benefit 164,300 households. The transformation of old communities will focus on solving the problems of water, electricity, gas, and transportation that affect the basic lives of residents. Up to now, Fujian Province has started construction of 242 old communities with a total construction area of 4,731,900 square meters, benefiting 53,700 residents.
