During the "Thirteenth Five-Year Plan" period, the housing and urban-rural construction system of Yunnan Province actively innovated and acted practically, which effectively promoted the high-quality development of housing and urban-rural construction in Yunnan Province. It has made positive contributions to promoting the economic and social development of the province and building a well-off society in an all-round way. In the past five years, the supporting role of the construction industry in the economic development of the province has become increasingly prominent:

First, the output value of the construction industry has achieved rapid growth. Since the "13th Five-Year Plan", the total output value of the province's construction industry has increased from 386.722 billion yuan to 612.201 billion yuan, an average annual increase of 17%. The added value of the construction industry increased from 180.622 billion yuan to 266.464 billion yuan, with an average annual growth rate of 12.4%, accounting for more than 12% of GDP (annual average), providing important support for Yunnan Province to achieve high-quality leap-forward economic and social development.

Second, the scale of construction enterprises has grown rapidly. The number of construction enterprises in the province has increased significantly. The number of construction enterprises has increased from 4,597 to 10,933, with an average annual growth rate of over 34%. Among them, the number of special-grade enterprises increased from 5 to 12 from 5 to 10, and from 285 to 814 with first-level qualifications.

Third, the role of the construction industry in serving the people's livelihood continues to be prominent. The number of employees in the construction industry has increased from 470,000 to 980,000, and the number of construction engineers has increased from 40,000 to more than 60,000. The tax revenue of the construction industry increased from 15.6 billion yuan to 31 billion yuan, an average annual increase of 22.5%, accounting for nearly 10% of the province’s tax revenue, which played an important role in stabilizing employment and benefiting the people’s livelihood in the province.

The fourth is to accelerate the transformation of the construction industry development mode. During the "Thirteenth Five-Year Plan" period, the province has promoted more than 200 million square meters of green buildings, newly started prefabricated buildings with an area of more than 8 million square meters, and 51 companies have obtained green building materials evaluation marks.

Fifth, the level of engineering design and construction has been greatly improved. A number of landmark major projects such as Kunming Changshui International Airport, Yunnan Provincial Museum, and Yunnan Grand Theater have been completed one after another. The design and construction technology of Yunnan Province has reached the international advanced level in terms of super high-rise buildings, deep foundation pits, large space, large-span and difficult construction projects, as well as large-scale bridges, water conservancy hubs, high-speed railways and other professional projects.
