Yunnan Province: Encourage and guide construction projects to adopt prefabricated construction methods

On January 25, nine departments including the Department of Housing and Urban-Rural Development of Yunnan Province, the Department of Education, the Department of Science and Technology, and the Department of Natural Resources jointly issued the "Opinions on Accelerating the Industrialization of New Buildings." The "Opinions" propose measures in eight aspects: guiding and cultivating market entities, optimizing and improving industrial bases, accelerating the implementation of construction projects, establishing and improving systems and mechanisms, strengthening information technology support, exploring and improving organizational models, customizing and improving standards and regulations, and increasing policy support. In terms of design, construction, integration of information technology, and improvement of standards and specifications, several opinions were put forward on the industrialization of new buildings.

In recent years, with the rapid economic and social development of the country, the industrial scale of the construction industry in various places has been expanding. The continuous enhancement of construction capacity has driven a large number of related industries and has become an important pillar industry of the national economy. The construction industry has made important contributions to economic and social development and urban and rural construction. However, the construction industry is still a labor-intensive, traditional industry with relatively backward construction methods. The construction industry needs to invest a lot of manpower and material resources when it is in operation. Under the 2020 epidemic, many projects in Kunming have delayed the delivery of houses due to epidemic prevention and control and the inability of construction personnel to work.

It is understood that the industrialization of new buildings uses the "digital building platform" to build a new infrastructure for digital transformation of the industry, forming digital collaborative design, intelligent production, intelligent assembly and intelligent integrated applications and other industrial intelligent application scenarios throughout the life cycle. It also integrates intelligent equipment, engineering machinery, automation equipment, and robots, and through the software-driven digital production line of the new industrial chain, new changes and new connotations will occur at each stage of the project's life cycle. In the future, the whole process will be derived from the pure digital virtual construction process before the physical building construction. In the physical construction phase and the operation and maintenance phase, it will be a process of virtual and physical integration. In the end, it will realize the perfection of integrated building parts, promote the balance of supply and demand of production capacity, promote the standardization of components and components, guide related building materials manufacturers to transform and upgrade to green and industrialization, and promote the mutual support and integrated development of new building industrialization projects and green building materials.

The "Opinions" mentioned in accelerating the implementation of construction projects that government-invested projects should take the lead in building in accordance with the new construction industrialization method, and encourage and guide social investment projects to adopt prefabricated construction methods. In fact, as early as 2018, Kunming has entered the prefabricated building pilot demonstration period. In the same year, the third phase of the 2-1 plot of the Kunming Vanke Golden Mile South County Garden Project was awarded the plaque of "Prefabricated Building Technology Demonstration Project in Yunnan Province" by the Housing and Urban-Rural Development Department of Yunnan Province. This is also the first project in Yunnan Province to obtain a prefabricated building technology demonstration project.

It is understood that the prefabricated building is like "building a house with building blocks" in the construction process. Building components such as beams, wall panels, and stairs produced in advance can be assembled, connected and installed on the site to complete the construction. Prefabricated buildings conform to the national green development concept and represent the future development direction of the construction industry. With the strong support of national policies, the construction industry is on the road of transformation and development.
