As an engineering masterpiece, this sphere architecture was officially open to the public in Steinberg am See, Germany in 2019. This wooden ball is currently the world's largest wooden spherical device that can walk inside. It was invested and constructed by inMotion Park Seenland GmbH and can accommodate up to 950 people.

The project has shown the highest level in many aspects, such as a weight of more than 500 tons, a height of 40 meters and a spherical diameter of 50 meters. All these data make the device detectable from a distance. In addition, the project also used 627 cubic meters of glue-laminated timber, 190 tons of steel components, 40,000 screws, 18,000 bolts, 3,300 square meters of cladding panels and 2,200 meters of railings. And these are just the tip of the iceberg of the project.

The external structural element of the wooden ball is about 55 meters long and contains 15 meters of arched carved parts. Because of the complex structural design of the device, the architect worked out a comprehensive and logical assembly plan with the owner Almholz and corresponding partners from the beginning. All the components of the device are processed in advance in the Kleinheubach factory, and the weight of each component is roughly 17 tons. After these parts are delivered to the assembly site, the workers will assemble them in sequence according to a pre-made plan.

In view of the complex support structure, building shape, and unique construction and assembly technology of the device, this project is enough to become a milestone in the project handled by HESS TIMBER. The complex pre-manufacturing process and subsequent on-site assembly work is a major difficulty that the project has overcome.
