More than 300 pictures and a set of data vividly show the achievements of Nanjing's housing security work during the "13th Five-Year Plan" period.


In recent years, Nanjing has gradually improved its housing security system, realizing "all insurance coverage" for urban low- and middle-income families with housing difficulties, while benefiting newly employed college students, migrant workers and other groups. As of the end of November, a total of 51,800 public rental housing units have been protected in kind, and a total of 2.6 billion yuan has been subsidized to 260,000 people. Since 2017, Nanjing has adopted a three-in-one talent settlement system of “rent, purchase, and supplement”, “subtracting” the entrepreneurial costs and living costs of talents, and introduced a series of settlement policies such as the “Nanjing City Talents Housing Measures”. With the implementation of the "Ningju Plan" in 2018, the housing rental subsidy policy for college graduates has been further optimized.


The old quarters are renewed. As of the end of November, Nanjing had renovated 1,282 old communities in total, benefiting 410,000 households and overfulfilling the task of rebuilding old communities during the 13th Five-Year Plan. Nanjing City promotes the installation of elevators in existing residences. A total of 2539 elevators have signed written agreements, 1539 have gone through planning approval procedures, 115 are under construction, and 1,048 have been completed. Nanjing is also making every effort to promote the dilapidated house management project. During the "13th Five-Year Plan" period, more than 30,000 old houses in the city, covering approximately 80 million square meters, were investigated. Through a variety of methods such as retention, modification, and demolition, the city's listed dilapidated housing management is nearing completion.


Since 2016, Nanjing has been focusing on "improving the environment, benefiting people's livelihood, and building a city", following the principles of "government-led, market-oriented, people-oriented, comprehensive transformation, overall planning, and step-by-step implementation", Expand the scope of shantytown renovation to the junction of suburbs and start the third round of shantytown renovation. As of the end of November, the area of renovated houses in Nanjing's shanty towns was about 21.12 million square meters, directly benefiting about 94,000 households.
