In recent years, Xiaogan City has comprehensively promoted the innovation of construction methods, and the Xiaogan City Government has successively issued policy documents such as "Implementation Opinions on Accelerating the Modernization of Construction Industry" and "Three-year Action Plan for Green Development of Urban Construction in Xiaogan City". The overall requirements, key tasks, support policies and safeguard measures for the advancement of prefabricated buildings are clarified. In 2018 and 2019, the newly-started prefabricated construction projects in the city have an area of 255,000 square meters and 1,751,200 square meters respectively. It is expected that the area of newly built prefabricated projects can be completed this year of 330,000 square meters, and the provincial target tasks have been exceeded for two consecutive years.

It is reported that Xiaogan City has 5 prefabricated concrete component and wood structure manufacturers including Hubei Yuhui Zhonggong Construction Industrialization Co., Ltd., Hubei Yunyu Assembly Component Co., Ltd., and Hangjia (Hubei) Building Energy-saving New Material Co., Ltd. This year, Xiaogan Chuxiong Company and Hangzhou Hangxiao Steel Structure Company formally signed a contract to build a steel structure assembly production base in Xiaonan District. Basically realize the full coverage of PC component, steel structure, and wood structure assembly type production enterprises, with a total design production capacity of 1.55 million cubic meters per year.

In the next step, Xiaogan City will invest in government projects, real estate development projects, and industrial buildings in the city center, development zones, and industrial parks. Promote the use of prefabricated buildings, promote the application of building information modeling (BIM) technology, and improve the technological level of industrial modernization. At the same time, actively promote the modernization of the housing industry. Support companies such as Yuhui Zhonggong, Yunyu Construction, Yipixi Huayu, Chuzhixing Hangxiao Steel Structure, Tianxin Wood Structure House Manufacturing and other companies to become bigger and stronger. Strive to complete the prefabricated building area of no less than 300,000 square meters by 2025.
