At 5:33 a.m. on September 21, at the No. 128 pier of the rapid reconstruction project of the north extension of Wanjiali Road Viaduct of China Railway Fifth Bureau. With two 300-ton and 650-ton cranes in perfect harmony, a 185-ton right-side cover beam was lifted high, rotated in the air, and slowly fell into the prefabricated piers to complete the assembly. It is understood that this is also the heaviest single-section cover beam in the construction history of municipal prefabricated bridges in Hunan Province.


How is the "Big Mac" assembled quickly and efficiently? Wang Xiong, chief engineer of the Wanjiali Road project of China Railway Fifth Bureau, introduced that the cover beams are prefabricated in two sections in the prefabrication yard, and then the prefabricated cover beams are transported to the construction site. Temporary buttresses are erected at the piers to be erected, transported to the piers to be erected by beam transporting trolleys, and the cover beams are hoisted to the top of the pier and the brackets beside the pier. The entire assembly is as tight as building blocks. In this way, the whole assembly process takes less than 3 hours, which saves at least 7 days compared with the traditional cast-in-place construction time.


"Rapid construction and green construction have become the urgent needs of urban bridge construction, and the prefabricated assembly technology is in line with the requirements of urban bridge construction." Li Zhiqiang, deputy chief engineer of the Wanjiali Road Project Department of the China Railway Fifth Bureau, introduced that the prefabricated cover beam adopts a customized steel mold, which is formed at one time, so it is not easy to produce quality defects such as wrong platform, and the appearance quality is better than that of cast-in-place concrete. The prefabrication and assembly technology can realize the simultaneous construction of prefabrication and installation, which can greatly shorten the construction period.


The successful completion of the first single-section maximum weight hoisting construction this time has accumulated experience for accelerating the construction of the viaduct along the north line of the rapid reconstruction of Wanjiali Road and the subsequent hoisting of heavy-weight cover beams.
