The green building area of Beijing sub-center reaches 10.05 million square meters

Green development is the brightest background of the sub-center and the best sign of the sub-center's vitality. At present, the city's sub-center green buildings are at the forefront of the city, laying a solid foundation for the creation of a national green development demonstration zone. Recently, the Beijing Sub-center held a press conference on green buildings. Lu Qinglei, member of the Party Working Committee of the Deputy Center, Director of the Construction Management Bureau of the Management Committee, and Deputy Head of Tongzhou District, introduced that so far, 67 projects in the core area of the city's sub-center have obtained the green building label, with a construction area of about 10.05 million square meters.

Lu Qinglei introduced that the green building implementation standard of the sub-center is also the highest in the city. From May 2021, two "100%" will be fully implemented in the sub-center, that is, 100% of new civil buildings will comply with the two-star standard for green construction, and 100% of new large-scale public buildings will comply with the three-star standard of green construction. This makes the sub-center the first area in China where large-scale public buildings fully implement the three-star standard for green construction.

Taking the city's sub-center theater, library and museum as an example, the three major buildings and shared supporting facilities projects can reduce carbon dioxide emissions by about 10,207 tons per year compared to public buildings of the same type that have not taken energy-saving and emission-reduction measures.

According to reports, relevant departments have achieved phased research results in the construction of green building index system, green building policy innovation, the whole process of green building implementation, and the application of green building materials technology, providing intellectual support for the high-quality development of green buildings in the sub-center.

At the same time, the sub-center also actively promotes the integrated development of green buildings with ultra-low energy consumption buildings, near-zero carbon buildings and healthy buildings. A total of 130,000 square meters of ultra-low energy consumption buildings, 200,000 square meters of near-zero carbon buildings and 130,000 square meters of healthy buildings have been built. At present, the sub-center Smart Energy Service Guarantee Center, the first near-zero carbon (energy consumption) project in the national energy industry that has been built, has reduced comprehensive energy consumption by more than 70%. Pilot construction of "double zero" buildings (near zero energy consumption and near zero carbon emission) in the second phase of the administrative office area 160 and 169 plots. The first batch of high-standard commercial residential projects for centralized land supply in Beijing implement the three building standards of green three-star, ultra-low energy consumption and healthy buildings.

In the next step, the sub-center will do a good job of special planning for green buildings, introduce key green building incentive policies, and implement the whole process of green buildings. Carry out green upgrades for existing construction projects, conduct in-depth research on carbon emission reduction in the construction field, strengthen green building demonstrations, and serve the creation of national green development demonstration zones.
