Ministry of Housing and Urban-rural Development: 740 million square meters of new prefabricated construction area will be built in 2021, accounting for 24.5%

According to Viewpoint New Media, Li Rusheng, chief engineer of the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development, said that the scale of the construction industry has continued to expand in the past ten years. The added value of the construction industry has increased from 3.69 trillion yuan to 8.01 trillion yuan, accounting for more than 6.85% of the GDP, and the status of a pillar industry in the national economy has continued to be consolidated.

In 2021, the total output value of the construction industry will reach 29.3 trillion yuan, more than double that in 2012. The number of employees in the construction industry reached 52.8294 million, an increase of more than 10 million over 2012.

Engineering design, construction level, engineering quality and safety situation, technological innovation level and labor skills have all been significantly improved, and labor productivity has reached 473,000 yuan per person, an increase of nearly 60% over 2012. A batch of new products, new formats, and new models, such as prefabricated buildings, construction robots, and construction industry Internet, have taken shape initially. In 2021, the area of new prefabricated buildings nationwide will reach 740 million square meters, accounting for 24.5% of the proportion of new buildings.

Taking urban rail transit construction as an example, by the end of 2021, the total length of the line will reach 8,571 kilometers, more than four times that of 2012, and the annual passenger volume will reach 23.6 billion, which greatly facilitates the travel of the people. A number of representative projects, such as Daxing International Airport, Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge, Huoshenshan, and Leishenshan Hospital, are the condensed and displayed achievements of the transformation and development of the construction industry, and are also the best business cards of "Made in China".
