Inner Mongolia's first green building material production base settled in Baotou

A few days ago, the unveiling ceremony of the new material conversion base of Beijing University of Chemical Technology and the demonstration project base of green and low-carbon asphalt production of Baotou Transportation Investment Group was held. This marks the first green building material production base in Inner Mongolia to settle in Baotou City.

The above-mentioned project base strategically cooperated by Baotou City and Beijing University of Chemical Technology covers an area of more than 40 acres, with a total investment of more than 62 million yuan. After completion, it can store 21,000 tons of asphalt at a time, and annually produce and sell 100,000 tons of green, low-carbon, high-performance series of modified asphalt products, with a sales income of about 500 million yuan and a profit of about 50 million yuan.

"High-performance modified asphalt, including high-performance rubberized asphalt, compound rubber-modified asphalt, and high-viscosity and high-elasticity rubber-modified asphalt, can effectively alleviate the cracking of northern highways in winter." Zhang Lei, chairman of Baotou City Investment Group, introduced that based on the significant advantages of modified asphalt, Baotou City has already conducted practical trials on Qingda Line, Jianshe Road, Baiyun Road and other sections. Compared with traditional asphalt, rubber asphalt used for road construction can greatly reduce carbon emissions, significantly reduce the number of road cracks, significantly reduce road maintenance costs, and greatly extend road life. After scientific calculation, if fully put into production, operation and use, the green low-carbon asphalt production demonstration project base can consume 30,000 tons of waste tires and reduce carbon dioxide emissions by more than 150,000 tons per year.
