A prefabricated building refers to a building in which the building components and accessories processed in the factory are transported to the construction site, and assembled and installed on site through a reliable connection method. It not only has the advantages of environmental protection, fast construction and short construction period, but also meets the requirements of "green building". The construction site is like "Lego", with fast assembly speed and high construction efficiency.

In the workshop of Guizhou China Construction Technology Prefabricated Building Industry Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "China Construction Technology Xifeng PC Component Factory"), workers are producing prefabricated building materials in an orderly manner. The plant was officially put into operation in September 2020, and can mass-produce various components such as laminated boards, prefabricated stairs, and phosphogypsum strips. "We do prefabricated buildings, and we hope to help you build houses like building Lego toys and building blocks." Fu Yuan, secretary of the party branch and director of China Construction Technology Xifeng PC Component Factory, told reporters.

From the perspective of the industry, the development prospects of prefabricated buildings are good. The "14th Five-Year" Construction Industry Development Plan issued by the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development of China proposes to "vigorously promote the application of prefabricated buildings", "Cultivate a batch of prefabricated building production bases", "build a standardized design and production system for prefabricated buildings, promote intelligent upgrading of production and construction, expand the use of standardized components and parts, and improve the comprehensive benefits of prefabricated buildings".

According to statistics, during the "Thirteenth Five-Year Plan" period, a total of 261 prefabricated building projects were completed in Guizhou Province, with a construction area of 5.0312 million square meters, and 49 provincial-level prefabricated building demonstration projects. Guiyang City has been rated as a provincial-level prefabricated building demonstration city. In 2020, prefabricated buildings will account for 15.64% of new urban buildings. The effect of pilot demonstration and promotion and application is obvious.

At the end of February 2022, the first batch of four prefabricated building demonstration township primary schools in Guizhou, built by China Construction Technology Guizhou Branch, were officially put into use. The four prefabricated schools project is an important local rural basic education and livelihood project, and it is also one of the "Ten Practical Events" of the Huaxi District Government in 2020. "Yanting Primary School is located in Gaopo Miao Township, the highest altitude in Guiyang City, with a maximum altitude of more than 1,700 meters." Fu Yuan introduced that due to the shortage of ground materials and the difficulty in transportation, a demonstration school of prefabricated buildings was built here, which has become a model of prefabricated construction schools in Guiyang.

"This is the responsibility of central enterprises." Fu Yuan said that in addition to overcoming multiple difficulties to carry out the project, CSCEC Xifeng PC Component Factory also aims to provide reproducible and scalable construction experience for green buildings and build a bridge to promote local development.

The "Carbon Peak Action Plan before 2030" issued by the State Council of China in 2021 proposes to promote green and low-carbon building materials and green construction methods, accelerate the industrialization of new buildings, and vigorously develop prefabricated buildings. The "Opinions of the General Office of the State Council on Further Unleashing Consumption Potential and Promoting Continued Recovery of Consumption" issued in April 2022 also mentioned:

It is necessary to promote the large-scale development of green buildings, vigorously develop prefabricated buildings, actively promote green building materials, and speed up building energy-saving renovation.

In the context of "dual carbon", in the face of the current situation that people's housing demand has shifted from high-speed growth to the pursuit of high-quality development, prefabricated buildings have become an important direction for the transformation and upgrading of the construction industry due to their advantages such as standardized prefabrication and modular components.

Fu Yuan also said that compared with the traditional construction industry, prefabricated buildings can reduce construction waste, sewage discharge and solid waste disposal caused by manual wet work on site through standardized design, factory production and assembly construction. Reduce noise emissions, on-site dust and transport spills. Gradually improve the urban ecological livability to meet the people's needs for a better environment and urban life.

In order to further accelerate the promotion of prefabricated buildings in Guiyang, promote the transformation and upgrading of the construction industry, promote the green development of urban and rural construction, and help achieve the goal of "carbon peaking and carbon neutrality", Guiyang also proposed an implementation plan for accelerating the development of prefabricated buildings (draft for comments). "From the production of materials to the actual use of the project, in the entire building life cycle, how much carbon emissions we have reduced by using prefabricated building materials will be clearly marked, and finally benefit the entire industry in the form of carbon trading. "

Fu Yuan said that although the current products are affected by factors such as cost and awareness, there is still a temporary lack of widespread popularity in Guizhou and surrounding areas, but he is still optimistic about the future market, and the pain caused by transformation and upgrading is temporary.
