The reporter recently learned from the Huaibei City Water Affairs Bureau that the first prefabricated water conservancy project in Huaibei City, the drainage project in the Kechuang Building area, started on May 27.

The drainage project in the Kechuang Building area is a key drainage project approved by Huaibei City in 2022, and will be organized and implemented by the Huaibei Water Affairs Bureau. The standard of drainage is "once in 10 years for farmland drainage and 30 years for urban drainage". The drainage area is 2.58 square kilometers. The drainage line passes through the Kechuang Building complex, of which the box culvert section is 300 meters and the open ditch section is 788 meters. The total construction period is 40 days.

It is understood that the 300-meter drainage ditch adjacent to the Kechuang Building is constructed with fabricated box culverts, which can not only build an urban flood drainage system, but also speed up the construction progress, ensure the normal use of construction projects, save project investment, and create favorable conditions for safe flood control.

This prefabricated box culvert is designed with a single section of 2 meters long, 3.6 meters wide and 3.6 meters high, with a total of 150 sections. It is the largest drainage box culvert actually used in water conservancy projects in Huaibei City. The production and installation of box culverts are undertaken by Anhui MCC Huaihai Prefabricated Construction Co., Ltd., and new technologies such as new vertical rotary mixing technology, self-compacting concrete ratio, and self-expanding rubber joint sealing are adopted to effectively improve the quality of prefabricated concrete.

It is expected that the entire project construction will be completed on July 5, which will save 120 days of construction period compared to conventional cast-in-place box culverts.
