Macau held its first prefabricated construction workshop at Seac Pai Wan Vocational Training Center

On June 11, in order to cooperate with the gradual adoption of prefabricated construction technology in Macao's public works, the Macao Labour Affairs Bureau and the Macao Construction Industry Federation successfully held the first Workshop on Understanding Prefabricated Building Construction Technology at the newly completed Seac Pai Wan Vocational Training Center.

The newly built Seac Pai Wan Vocational Training Centre covers an area of more than 10,000 square meters. It is an important base for the Labour Bureau to provide vocational training for the construction industry. Currently, the Labour Office has planned to co-organize trainings with industry groups and professional units including: Fabricated building hoists, construction industry signaling and slings, spreaders, truck crane operators, stone care and refurbishers, fork lift truck operators, excavator operators, crawler crane operators. According to the current training plan, more than 2,000 vocational training places can be provided for the construction industry every year.

The Labour Office will continue to pay attention to the needs of the industry, cooperate with various parties, and make full use of the Seac Pai Wan Vocational Training Center to offer more training and certification courses for the construction industry that are conducive to the improvement of the skills of industry personnel and the development of industry technology.

This workshop aims to give students a preliminary understanding and understanding of prefabricated building construction technology. In the workshop, the instructors sent by Macau Hailong Construction Technology Co., Ltd. introduced the general situation and trends of prefabricated technology development in mainland China, the history and technological evolution of prefabricated buildings in Hong Kong and Macau, and the typical cases of prefabricated buildings in the vicinity of Macau. He also explained the basic concepts of the prefabricated design and construction of the first prefabricated project "Senior Apartment" in Macau, and answered the students' questions on the spot, including the production of components, waterproofing, construction procedures and project acceptance. In addition, the instructor also gave a detailed explanation of the prefabricated physical components installed in the Seac Pai Wan Vocational Training Center.
