The prefabricated building is one of the landmark projects in Hainan's construction of a national ecological civilization pilot zone. It is a building that transfers a large number of on-site operations in the traditional construction method to the factory, processes and manufactures building components and accessories in the factory, transports them to the construction site, and assembles and installs on-site through reliable connections.

Outdoor things are done indoors, construction sites are done in factories, high-altitude things are done on the ground, and complex and dangerous things are done by robots. Green, environmentally friendly, convenient and fast, this is the best feature of prefabricated buildings.

In 2021, the newly added construction area of Hainan Province will be about 45 million square meters, of which the prefabricated construction area will account for 51%.

Huang Hualiang, the head of the Lingao project, introduced that Country Garden Hainan has started to develop the prefabricated building industry since 2018, and introduced robots to build houses in 2020. At present, there are 9 projects in Hainan that use robots for construction, with a total construction area of 1.1 million square meters and 43 construction robots. He said that in the future, Country Garden plans to add 100 robots of 8 models in Hainan, and they will enter the construction sites of various projects one after another.

After the robot enters the construction site, not only the number of construction personnel can be reduced, but also the work intensity of the workers is greatly reduced.

Huang Hualiang said that at the structural level, robots can complete many tasks that require workers to complete on-site. The robots are easy to operate and environmentally friendly, which not only improves efficiency, but also reduces potential safety hazards.

Taking the floor grinding robot as an example, the technicians issue instructions by operating the tablet, and the robot quickly starts the grinding disc to grind and polish the rough ground, and the work efficiency is nearly 3 times higher than that of manual work. The dust generated by grinding is also collected by the vacuum system that comes with the robot, which effectively avoids the problem of dust on the construction site.

Industrial clusters promote development

In 2020, the Hainan Provincial Government has made it clear that the prefabricated building parts and new production capacity will be concentrated in the Jinjingang Industrial Park in Lingao County. The whole industrial chain cluster of prefabricated buildings integrating R&D, design, production, construction, transaction and maintenance is planned and developed in the park.
