Application of prefabricated buildings in key projects in Jiangdong New District, Haikou City, Hainan Province

Say goodbye to the dust and create a "green construction site"

Can a high-rise building be built on a construction site without sand and cement? This was initially the doubt in the mind of Yu Zhigang, the installer of the second-phase resettlement housing project of Dongzhai New Residence in Haikou Jiangdong New Area (hereinafter referred to as the second phase of Dongzhai New Residence). But after entering and participating in the construction for more than two months, after mastering the construction skills of prefabricated buildings, this doubt has already become a real feeling: "Not only can high-rise buildings be built, but also the construction is faster and more environmentally friendly."

As a provincial key project, the construction of the main building of the second phase of Dongzhai New Residence adopts the prefabricated construction method. When a reporter from Hainan Daily met Yu Zhigang in Building 7 of the project on March 23, he was using a tape measure to measure the verticality of the newly installed wall panels. The newly assembled interior wall is made up of prefabricated wall panels that are 2.8 meters long, 70 cm wide and 10 cm thick.

"A piece of more than 100 catties, two of us can complete the assembly." Yu Guoqiang, who partnered with Yu Zhigang, came into contact with prefabricated buildings in the first two years. This made him more handy in the application of new technologies in this field of construction, and he was full of praise: "How does our construction site look like a traditional construction site, where we need to mix sand and cement on site?"

As Yu Guoqiang said, in the floor of more than 600 square meters, there is no sand or cement, and some are just prefabricated building components of different specifications. Like assembling accessories, the wall panels are spliced together, and the gaps are coated with fiber and rubber powder paint, and one wall is assembled.

"Our current assembly rate has reached more than 50%." Yang Hongwei, the project production manager, introduced that more than 50% is not only the completion of the provincial government's requirement that "the assembly rate of prefabricated concrete structures should not be less than 50%", but also the self-improvement of the second phase of Dongzhai New Residence to actively create a "green construction site".

Yang Hongwei said that in the past, the construction sites were always bare earthwork and dusty, "but prefabricated construction sites use new technologies and new methods, pay attention to environmental protection construction, and improve building quality."

At present, the second phase of Dongzhai New Residence has realized the use of prefabricated building materials for the main components of the building. After these components are prefabricated in the factory according to the specified proportions, they are sent to the construction site. The workers only need to operate according to the requirements, and they can be spliced and completed, which greatly reduces the pollution degree of the construction site.

At the construction site, a display screen displays the data of major construction site pollutants such as PM10 in real time. The reporter saw that this data is kept at about 100 micrograms/cubic meter, which is farther away than the standard exceeding 150 micrograms/cubic meter.

The application and promotion of prefabricated buildings is one of the landmark projects in Hainan Province. Not only the second phase of Dongzhai New Residence, but also prefabricated buildings have been applied and promoted in many key projects such as Dianbai New Village in Haikou Jiangdong New District and the 6# plot of resettlement housing.
