The total construction scale of prefabricated buildings in Shenzhen, Guangdong Province reaches 30 million square meters, ranking first in the country

On September 17, the third International (Shenzhen) Summit Forum and Boutique Exhibition for the Industrialization of New Buildings kicked off. The reporter was informed that, as of now, the total construction scale of prefabricated buildings in Shenzhen has reached 30 million square meters, ranking among the top in the country. The prefabricated building area newly started in the first half of this year reached 5.73 million square meters, a year-on-year increase of nearly 100%.

The forum held an award ceremony for leaders in the high-quality development of prefabricated buildings in Shenzhen. National moral model Lu Jianxin, national housing and urban-rural construction system model workers Lu Rongxiu and Li Shizhong, State Council Special Allowance Expert Dai Lixian and other 40 iconic figures from the entire industry chain leading the high-quality development of Shenzhen prefabricated buildings were commended.

The theme of this forum is "An era of advancement, a new decade of pre-building". Wen Linfeng, deputy director of the Science and Technology and Industrialization Development Center of the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development, gave a keynote speech at the forum and pointed out that the development of new-type building industrialization is the main measure for green development and low-carbon circular development in urban and rural construction. Wen Linfeng said that Shenzhen's prefabricated buildings are in the forefront of the country in terms of construction scale and development quality, and a number of demonstration projects nationwide have been born.

The relevant person in charge of the Shenzhen Municipal Bureau of Housing and Urban-rural Development said that in recent years, Shenzhen has persisted in exploring and practicing new building industrialization represented by prefabricated buildings: 15 policy documents and 13 standard specifications have been issued; The total construction scale reached 30 million square meters, and the proportion of newly-started prefabricated buildings in the first half of this year reached 30.7%, completing the national targets ahead of schedule; creating a batch of "Luban Awards" and national standards for the Shenzhen campus of Harbin Institute of Technology, Hanjing Center, etc. 3A-level boutique projects; 35 national, provincial and municipal industrial bases have been incubated and cultivated; the country's first prefabricated building professional technical title was created; the first batch of 7 prefabricated building training bases in the province have been built.

Shenzhen has initially formed a prefabricated development path with Shenzhen characteristics of "policy guidance, market operation, corporate actions, and assistance from associations", and has continued to export replicable and extendable "Shenzhen experience" to the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and even the whole country.

It is understood that prefabricated construction refers to the transfer of a large amount of on-site work in the traditional construction method to the factory, where the building components and accessories are processed in the factory, and then transported to the construction site, and a building assembled and installed on-site through a reliable connection method. In layman's terms, prefabricated buildings are "building houses like building blocks."
