The development of prefabricated buildings is a major change in construction methods and an important measure to promote the supply-side structural reform of the construction industry, which is conducive to saving resources and energy, reducing construction pollution, and improving labor productivity and quality and safety. Guangdong Province also released "Several Measures for Promoting the High-quality Development of the Construction Industry in Guangdong Province" last year, which clearly stated that in order to upgrade the construction method, Guangdong should vigorously develop prefabricated buildings, carry out pilot demonstrations of prefabricated decoration, actively develop finished housing and promote the development of construction industrialization technology, and promote the industrialization of new buildings.

In Guangzhou, according to the "Implementation Opinions of the General Office of the Guangzhou Municipal People's Government on Vigorously Developing Prefabricated Buildings and Accelerating the Modernization of the Construction Industry" and the "Notice of the Guangzhou Housing and Urban-Rural Development Bureau on Strengthening the Implementation Requirements for Prefabricated Buildings in the Design Phase", newly established government-invested large and medium-sized projects should fully implement prefabricated buildings. Construction projects that require the implementation of the construction method of prefabricated buildings shall implement prefabricated buildings in accordance with the contract requirements. Among them, if the land transfer announcement states that "the transferee must adopt the construction method of prefabricated buildings" but does not specify the requirements for the proportion of prefabricated buildings, the transferee shall adopt the construction method of prefabricated buildings. Construction projects using the construction method of prefabricated buildings shall meet the requirements of the current national or provincial evaluation standards for prefabricated buildings.

The industry hopes to work together and systematically promote green building materials and prefabricated building decoration

Some practitioners in the decoration industry said that traditional decoration methods have certain drawbacks, but because of traditional craftsmanship, and the cost of personnel training and the use of materials is low, there is still a large market for traditional decoration methods. "We also want to carry out more use of prefabricated decoration, and hope that the government or industry associations can issue specific guidelines or incentive measures for the industry to refer to and follow." The practitioners said.

Liao Jiangling, a second-level inspector of the Guangdong Provincial Department of Housing and Urban-Rural Development, also pointed out that the green and low-carbon prefabricated decoration market has high demand and broad prospects. However, at present, the industry is rarely able to provide various prefabricated decoration products that "brighten the eyes" of the masses, and continuous efforts are still required. He said that if we can provide convenient, simple, green and low-carbon prefabricated decoration, it will effectively enhance users' willingness to decorate and promote the rapid development of the decoration industry.
