In 2021, the total output value of the national construction industry will increase by 11.0% year-on-year

On January 17, the National Bureau of Statistics released the latest data. According to preliminary calculations, the gross domestic product (GDP) in 2021 will exceed 114 trillion yuan, reaching 114.367 trillion yuan, an increase of 8.1% over the previous year at constant prices and an average growth of 5.1% for the two years.

In terms of different industries, the added value of the primary industry was 8308.6 billion yuan, an increase of 7.1% over the previous year; the added value of the secondary industry was 45090.4 billion yuan, an increase of 8.2%; the added value of the tertiary industry was 60968 billion yuan, an increase of 8.2%.

In 2021, the total output value of the national construction industry will be 29,307.9 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 11.0%

As shown in the figure above, the total output value of the national construction industry in 2021 will be 29,307.9 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 11.0%; the national construction industry housing construction area will be 15.75 billion square meters, a year-on-year increase of 5.4%.

In 2021, the national fixed asset investment (excluding farmers) will increase by 4.9%

From January to December 2021, the national fixed asset investment (excluding rural households) was 54,454.7 billion yuan, an increase of 4.9% over the previous year; an increase of 8.0% over the January-December period of 2019, and an average growth of 3.9% over the two years. Among them, private investment in fixed assets was 30,765.9 billion yuan, an increase of 7.0% over the previous year. From a month-on-month perspective, fixed asset investment (excluding farmers) increased by 0.22% in December. 

In terms of different industries, the investment in the primary industry was 1427.5 billion yuan, an increase of 9.1% over the previous year; the investment in the secondary industry was 16,739.5 billion yuan, an increase of 11.3%; the investment in the tertiary industry was 36,287.7 billion yuan, an increase of 2.1%.

In the secondary industry, industrial investment increased by 11.4% over the previous year. Among them, the investment in the mining industry increased by 10.9%, the investment in the manufacturing industry increased by 13.5%, and the investment in the production and supply of electricity, heat, gas and water increased by 1.1%. 

In the tertiary industry, infrastructure investment (excluding electricity, heat, gas and water production and supply) increased by 0.4% over the previous year. Among them, investment in water conservancy management industry increased by 1.3%, investment in public facility management industry decreased by 1.3%, investment in road transportation industry decreased by 1.2%, and investment in railway transportation industry decreased by 1.8%.

In terms of different regions, investment in the eastern region increased by 6.4% over the previous year, investment in the central region increased by 10.2%, investment in the western region increased by 3.9%, and investment in the northeast region increased by 5.7%. 

In terms of registration type, the investment of domestic enterprises increased by 4.7% over the previous year, the investment of Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan enterprises increased by 16.4%, and the investment of foreign enterprises increased by 5.0%.
