New prefabricated buildings in Hubei Province this year are expected to exceed 25 million square meters

"People and companies who sign up to participate in the prefabricated construction worker training are very enthusiastic!" Behind the training craze, the industry is gradually heating up. Continuing to promote the "industrialization of new buildings and the development of intelligent construction" is one of the key tasks of the Provincial Housing and Urban-rural Construction Department to overcome difficulties this year. As an important part of it, the province’s newly built prefabricated buildings are expected to exceed 25 million square meters this year, laying a solid foundation for the "14th Five-Year Plan" and providing a strong impetus for the transformation and upgrading of the construction industry.

Statistics show that as of the end of October, as an important carrier, the province has newly built prefabricated buildings with an area of 22.1 million square meters, with 81 production bases built and 18 under construction. By the end of the year, it is expected that 20% of the new buildings in the province this year will be prefabricated, an increase of 77% year-on-year, which significantly exceeds the set target of 15 million square meters of new construction this year.

Since the beginning of this year, the Provincial Housing and Urban-rural Development Department has selected different cities, enterprises and projects to carry out pilot projects for 8 key tasks including the reform of the prefabricated building organization and management model, digital design, manufacturing equipment upgrades, information management system development and application, and full-process application of BIM technology. The province has cultivated and constructed 56 prefabricated construction projects with advanced technology, safety and good quality, which has better promoted the development of prefabricated buildings. In September this year, the Provincial Department of Housing and Urban-Rural Development jointly issued the "Implementation Opinions on Promoting the Industrialization of New Buildings and the Development of Intelligent Construction" with 15 departments including development and reform, science and technology.

Adhering to the development concept of “seek quality by intelligence”, the competent department also actively promotes modular parametric design of prefabricated buildings, promotes smart construction sites, builds an Internet platform for the construction industry and projects, and opens up a “neural network” for smart construction.

At present, Hubei Province has developed and applied 12 production, management, and stacking information systems, and 106 smart equipment production lines. Declared to the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development of 23 cases of “three new” applications of new technologies, new products, innovative services, and high-quality development of efficient integration and allocation of resources, as well as improvements in efficiency and benefits.

China Construction Third Bureau Technology Innovation Company uses the vertical e-commerce platform "Yunzhuwang" to carry out electronic bidding, online transactions, logistics integration, supply chain financing and other businesses, with an annual transaction volume of nearly 5 billion yuan. The "CITIC Intelligent Construction Platform" developed by CITIC Digital Intelligence Corporation replaced the "Chinese Core" with software and built a "Chinese Cloud", breaking the monopoly of foreign BIM software, and won the first place in the 3rd China Industrial Internet Competition · Construction Industry Emerging Group. Hubei Chujianyi Network Technology Co., Ltd. developed a shared procurement platform for the construction industry-"Biomaterials Network", with nearly 10,000 online companies and a turnover of more than 10 billion yuan.

At present, there are 97 key enterprises in the industrialization and intelligent construction of new buildings in the province, covering 16 cities and prefectures. Three relatively concentrated prefabricated construction industry clusters, mainly in Wuhan, Yichang, Huanggang, Jingzhou, and Jingmen, have been preliminarily completed. The development pattern of industrial clusters has been initially established and the industrial foundation has become more solid.
