On the morning of December 10, the on-site promotion meeting for the renovation of old communities in cities and towns in Hunan Province was held in Liuyang. Lu Shan, Secretary of the Party Leadership Group and Director of the Provincial Housing and Urban-rural Development Department, attended the meeting and delivered a speech. Yi Xiaolin, a member of the Party Leadership Group and Deputy Director of the Provincial Housing and Urban-Rural Development Department, presided over the meeting. Persons in charge of relevant departments of the Provincial Department of Finance, Provincial Department of Civil Affairs, and Provincial Department of Housing and Urban-Rural Development, the main persons in charge of the leading departments for the transformation of old communities in each city and prefecture, the principals of relevant departments, and the principals of the leading departments of the transformation of old communities in counties, cities and districts participated.

Participants inspected the reconstruction projects of the old communities in Gongjiaqiao District, Hengyi New Village, Huapao District, and Baichuanli District in Liuyang City.

In the past three years, under the strong leadership of the Provincial Party Committee and the Provincial Government, various departments at all levels in the province have worked in the same direction and resonated at the same frequency to promote the transformation of old urban communities in a solid and orderly manner, and remarkable results have been achieved. A total of 7907 communities were renovated (including 4629 completed), benefiting approximately 1.165 million residents.

Lushan emphasized that all localities must resolutely implement the spirit and requirements of the central and provincial governments on promoting the transformation of old communities in cities and towns, raise awareness, strengthen responsibilities, deeply understand the importance of the transformation of old communities in cities and towns, and strive to build an upgraded version of the transformation of old communities in cities and towns. It is necessary to innovate working methods, take the transformation of old communities as an opportunity to solve the problems of residents' urgent and worries, strengthen grassroots governance, and promote urban renewal. In the work, we must "find out, figure out, do everything in place, relieve worries and hopes, build mechanisms, do meticulously, take responsibility, dare to act, break new paths, benefit the people's livelihood, display the party's heart, and benefit the well-being".

Yi Xiaolin asked all localities to conscientiously convey and implement the spirit of the meeting and the requirements of Director Lushan's speech, promote the upgrading of ideas, methods, measures and objectives, and effectively carry out the livelihood of the old community.

At the meeting, Zhou Zhikai, deputy mayor of Changsha City, delivered a speech, and Tian Mingge, director of the Urban Construction Division of the Provincial Department of Housing and Urban-Rural Development, reported on the transformation of old communities in cities and towns across the province. Changsha City, Liuyang City, Daoxian County, Dingcheng District, Rucheng County delivered experience exchange speeches, Xiangtan City, Changde City, Wangcheng District, Hetang District, Yuhu District, Shigu District, Shaodong City, Shuangqing District, Yueyanglou District, Yongding District, Anhua County, Tianjin City, Xinhua County, Yongxing County, Qiyang City, Huitong County, Jishou City for written experience exchanges.
