On the morning of December 8, a 320-ton crawler crane slowly lifted a prefabricated pier with a height of 8.9 meters and a weight of 65 tons at the site of the Changguo Road and Baoshan Road interchange project of the first phase of the Zibo Urban Express Road Network. It landed steadily at Pier No. 334 of the project. After about 30 minutes of intensive construction, the first prefabricated pier column of the expressway project was successfully hoisted, and Zibo entered a new stage of bridge prefabricated construction development.


With the success of the first hoisting, the bridge construction in Zibo City has realized beneficial attempts of fully prefabricated assembly of piers, cap beams, box beams, etc. The assembly rate has been greatly increased, and the assembly rate of the Baoshan Road project alone can reach 80%.

Under the precise "calibration" of technicians at the vertical observation points of the Changguo Road and Baoshan Road Interchange Overpass Project, the 38 grouting sleeve openings at the lower end of the pier column and the embedded steel bars above the cap are perfectly inserted together. The 8.9-meter-high, 65-ton prefabricated pier column falls steadily, and its hoisting accuracy is measured in millimeters. With the smooth hoisting of the first prefabricated pier, the construction of this section of the project has successfully entered the prefabricated assembly stage.
