Tianjin's first fully prefabricated bridge opened to traffic in the eco-city

Recently, Tianjin’s first fully prefabricated prefabricated bridge, the Nautical Ramp Bridge, constructed by the Fifth Company of the China Railway 18th Bureau Group, was completed and opened to traffic. The operation of the bridge opened up fast passages across the Qinbin Expressway, Yuhang Road, Hubin Road and other main routes, shortening the time of entering and leaving the surrounding communities by about 30 minutes, further improving the travel experience of surrounding residents and enhancing the traffic capacity of the road network in the Binhai New Area.

"Our bridge adopts a fully prefabricated construction method, that is, the main beams, cover beams, bridge piers, and abutments needed to build the bridge are all ‘parts’ made in advance according to size and standards in the factory and shipped to the construction site, and then assembled like ‘building blocks’.” said Yang Yang, the person in charge of the project technology.

During the construction of the project across the existing roads, the box beams were accurately hoisted in place by means of "air relay" by cranes, which minimized the impact on high-speed traffic.
