1. The development history of prefabricated buildings in Hunan Province

Hunan Province has an earlier layout in prefabricated buildings. The "Guiding Opinions of the People's Government of Hunan Province on Promoting the Industrialization of Housing" issued in April 2014 proposed that by 2020, strive to achieve a prefabricated assembly (PC) rate of more than 80% for construction projects such as affordable housing, office buildings, hotels, etc., and cultivate and create 3-5 national residential industrialization demonstration bases and 30-50 national well-being demonstration projects.

In May 2017, the "Implementation Opinions of the General Office of the People's Government of Hunan Province on Accelerating the Development of Prefabricated Buildings" was officially released, which laid out a comprehensive layout for the future development of prefabricated buildings in Hunan Province.

——Construction of Hunan Prefabricated Building Industry Base

In 2020, Hunan Province has created 2 national prefabricated building demonstration cities, 9 provincial prefabricated building demonstration cities, 15 national prefabricated building industrial bases (parks), and 55 provincial prefabricated building industrial bases. It has achieved full coverage of production bases and projects for prefabricated buildings in 14 cities and prefectures, and has been awarded China’s only "National Prefabricated Building Technology Innovation Base", China’s first batch of pilot provinces for steel structure prefabricated residential construction, and the country's only green construction pilot province.

——Hunan Province has implemented a total of prefabricated building area

According to statistics from the Department of Housing and Urban-rural Development of Hunan Province, as of the end of 2020, a total of 83.15 million square meters of prefabricated buildings have been implemented in central cities of Hunan Province. Among them, 27.11 million square meters will be completed in 2020, and the prefabricated buildings will account for more than 30% of the newly built building area, basically completing the target tasks assigned by the provincial party committee and the provincial government.

According to the “Hunan Province Promoting the Pilot Program of Steel Structure Prefabricated Housing Construction”, the province’s crude steel output will reach 26.129 million tons in 2020, and there will be more than 20 enterprises in the steel structure industry chain, including 3 national-level industrial bases and 6 provincial-level industrial bases.
