The reporter learned from the Municipal Bureau of Housing and Urban-Rural Development that currently there are 8 kindergartens in Futian, Shenzhen that adopt modular buildings and offer more than 2,000 degrees.

Modular buildings are called an upgraded version of prefabricated buildings. "To put it simply, the building is divided into several spatial modules. All the equipment, pipelines, decoration and fixed furniture in the modules have been completed, and the facade decoration can also be completed. These modular components are transported to the construction site, and the building can be assembled simply and quickly.” According to the relevant person in charge of the Municipal Housing and Urban-rural Construction Bureau, this method transforms the traditional main body-internal-equipment "series" operation method into an integrated "parallel" operation method, which is all completed in the factory. It has greatly improved quality, efficiency, reduced labor and resource waste. It is a highly integrated and high-level prefabricated building, a high-end product of building industrialization, and a high-level embodiment of the development of prefabricated buildings worldwide.

Shenzhen began its exploration of modular buildings in 2015. Steel structure modular integrated composite buildings have been implemented in 22 projects including Qianhai Shenzhen-Hong Kong Innovation Business Center, CIMC Headquarters Complex, Yuanxi Kindergarten, and Futian District No. 9 High-tech Prefabricated Primary School, with a building area of more than 600,000 square meters. Prefabricated buildings have technical advantages such as fast construction, short construction period, high degree of industrialization, high integration, low construction impact, and green environmental protection. The construction period is shortened by more than 50% compared with traditional buildings.

Including Yuanxi Community Kindergarten and Fushan Kindergarten, there are 8 modular prefabricated kindergartens in Futian District. The 8 community kindergartens have a total construction area of 22,110.3 square meters, including a modular area of 13,590.13 square meters, providing a total of 390 modular units, a total of 45 classes, and more than 2,000 new degrees.

The reporter learned that all classrooms and stairs are composed of modular units, and the electromechanical, external decoration, internal decoration and other parts of the factory are highly integrated from design to processing. By adopting an innovative modular rapid construction model, the quality of building products, construction speed, technology content, and building integration can be improved, and labor, on-site construction, safety risks, and environmental pollution can be reduced. The degree of assembly can reach more than 85%, the construction period is shortened by 50% to 60% compared with traditional construction, the on-site labor is reduced by 40% to 50%, and the construction waste is reduced by 80%.
