First in Henan Province! "Prefabricated" villagers' housing starts in Huixian City

On October 10, the South Square of Jixiang New District, Jitun Town, Huixian City, with melodious salutes and drums, started construction on the first post-disaster reconstruction project of prefabricated villagers’ houses in Henan Province. The total investment of the project is 46.98 million yuan. The prefabricated steel structure is used. The main part of the project is completed in three months. It will benefit 47 households with collapsed houses and 223 households with D-grade dilapidated houses in 6 villages in the town.

This year's floods have affected 60,000 people in Jitun Town, Huixian City to varying degrees. After the disaster, the town’s party committee secretary Zhao Hualu led the cadres of the town to seize the country’s post-disaster reconstruction opportunities and immediately planned the construction project for the centralized resettlement of villagers’ housing.

On September 25, Wei Jianping, Mayor of Xinxiang City, went to Jitun Town to carry out a special survey of "I Do Practical Work for the Masses" to solve the problems in the production and life of the masses on the spot. After understanding the implementation of the project, it was proposed to give full play to the industrial foundation and technical advantages of the prefabricated buildings in Xinxiang City, and choose prefabricated buildings to shorten the construction period. It also requires the Development and Reform Commission and other departments to implement minimalist approvals for projects in accordance with the prefabricated construction bidding support policy, and advance the preliminary procedures of the project in parallel, and complete all procedures from site selection to construction in 40 days.

It is understood that the construction area of the project is 26,000 square meters and 270 households have been resettled. In order to minimize the construction period, the project adopts a new construction method of standardized design, technological production, and assembly construction to ensure that the affected people move into new houses and live in new houses as soon as possible. At the same time, the location of the project is superior, the surrounding supporting facilities are complete, and there are Farmer Pioneer Park and Green Food Industrial Park nearby, so that the affected people can live and work in peace and contentment.

Zhang Xiumei, deputy director of the Henan Provincial Department of Housing and Urban-Rural Development, said that Jitun Town took the lead in adopting the prefabricated construction method to promote the construction of the centralized resettlement project for the reconstruction of the villagers’ housing after the disaster. It is also a practical action to learn history and practice for the benefit of the people. It is very necessary and very timely.
