On September 29, the first batch of laminated panels of Shanghai Electric Science City (Yingde) Construction Co., Ltd., with a total investment of 450 million yuan, left the factory. It is understood that this also marks the smooth commissioning of the first prefabricated production base in Qingyuan. Shanghai Electric Science City (Yingde) Construction Technology Co., Ltd. is located in Guangde (Yingde) Industrial Park and is jointly invested by Shanghai Electric and Guangzhou Science City Group. The base covers an area of 119 acres and mainly produces prefabricated wall panels, prefabricated laminated floor slabs, prefabricated laminated beams, prefabricated stairs, prefabricated sandwich insulation wall panels, exterior panels, prefabricated columns, prefabricated balconies and artistic concrete products. With a production capacity of 160,000 m³, it can meet the annual demand for prefabricated buildings of approximately 3 million square meters.

It is understood that, as the first prefabricated building production base in Qingyuan, the commissioning of Shanghai Electric Technology City (Yingde) Construction Technology Co., Ltd. will further integrate resources, optimize the layout, and optimize the prefabricated building industry ecology in northern Guangdong. To promote the integration of Guangqing and Qinghai, to promote the coordinated development of urban and rural industries in northern Guangdong, and to provide a major driving force for the green upgrade of Guangdong's construction industry.

In layman's terms, "prefabricated building" refers to moving a large number of on-site operations in the traditional construction method to the factory for production, transporting the produced parts to the construction site, and then installing the prefabricated parts. The “Implementation Opinions of the General Office of the People’s Government of Guangdong Province on Vigorously Developing Prefabricated Buildings” issued in 2017 proposed to vigorously develop prefabricated buildings, promote the innovation of construction methods, promote the transformation and upgrading of the construction industry, and list the Pearl River Delta urban agglomeration as a key area for promotion. By the end of 2025, prefabricated buildings will account for more than 35% of the newly built building area, of which government-invested projects will account for more than 70% of the prefabricated building area.
