Guangxi Province has built 31 prefabricated production bases with an annual built area of over 4 million square meters

On August 28th, the 2020 3rd Guangxi Prefabricated Building and Green Building Materials Expo opened in Nanning International Convention and Exhibition Center. The reporter learned from the opening ceremony that the area of prefabricated buildings in Guangxi has increased year by year, reaching 4.67 million square meters in 2019, an increase of nearly 50% year-on-year.

This expo is supported by the Housing and Construction Department of Guangxi Autonomous Region and hosted by Guangxi Prefabricated Building Development Promotion Association. It is the first prefabricated construction upstream and downstream enterprise exhibition platform in Guangxi, attracting more than 70 well-known enterprises such as Guangxi Construction Engineering, Academy of Construction Sciences, Forte, China Resources, Sany Heavy Industry and so on. The exhibition lasts for three days and includes five exhibition areas including prefabricated technology and equipment, light steel villas, wooden structure houses, prefabricated houses, and new green building materials.

The reporter learned from the exhibition that the construction industry plays an important role in Guangxi’s economic development. In 2019, the total output value of the construction industry in the district was 540.731 billion yuan, an increase of 15.7% year-on-year, accounting for 8.6% of the district’s GDP, and it is a veritable pillar industry. Since the promotion of prefabricated buildings in 2016, Guangxi has focused on pilot construction, issued policy standards, carried out technical research, and continued to promote, which has achieved gratifying results. 31 prefabricated building production bases have been built, and the prefabricated building area has been increasing year by year, reaching 4.67 million square meters in 2019, an increase of nearly 50% over 2018.

The relevant person in charge of the Housing and Construction Department of the Autonomous Region said that the expo will continue to expand in the future to attract more upstream and downstream enterprises from the entire industrial chain of prefabricated buildings to participate in the exhibition, and play a greater role in promoting the development of western prefabricated buildings.
