Shenzhen started construction of 7.38 million square meters of prefabricated buildings in the first half of the year, completing the target tasks ahead of schedule

The reporter learned yesterday from the 4th International (Shenzhen) Summit Forum on the Development of Industrialization of New Buildings and the Boutique Exhibition that the scale of prefabricated buildings in Shenzhen has exceeded 42 million square meters, which ranks among the top in China.

The relevant person in charge of the Shenzhen Municipal Housing and Construction Bureau introduced that in recent years, the Shenzhen construction industry has continuously promoted the industrialization of new types of buildings represented by prefabricated buildings, and has achieved considerable development. At present, 15 policy documents and 13 standards and specifications have been issued; the total construction scale reached 42.32 million square meters. In the first half of 2021, the newly constructed prefabricated construction area reached 7.38 million square meters, accounting for 43% of China’s target tasks. 

A number of "Luban Award" and national standard 3A-level boutique projects have been built in the Shenzhen campus of Harbin Institute of Technology, Pingshan Yanzi Lake International Convention and Exhibition Center, and Hanjing Center; 31 national, provincial and municipal industrial bases have been incubated. Created the country's first prefabricated construction professional technical title, and cultivated 6 full-time senior engineers. The first batch of 7 prefabricated construction training bases in the province have been built. Organized nearly 100,000 public welfare training and project observation activities, and initially formed a prefabricated building development path with Shenzhen characteristics that is "policy-led, market-led, assisted by associations, and benefited by enterprises". And continue to export reproducible and extendable "Shenzhen Experience" to the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and even the whole country.

The relevant person in charge of the Shenzhen Municipal Bureau of Housing and Urban-rural Development said that in response to diversified people’s livelihood needs, the will give full play to the advantages of modular buildings, steel structures, such as short construction period, high building quality, and low environmental impact, and help the "Double Ten Project" schools, epidemic prevention hospitals, subway stations and other people's livelihood projects to build high standards. It not only promotes the development of new forms of industrialization of new buildings, but also increases the protection of people's livelihoods such as education, medical care, transportation, and travel, and makes every effort to enhance the people's sense of happiness.
