Zhoukou City, Henan Province, vigorously develop prefabricated buildings to promote the transformation and upgrading of the construction industry

In order to accelerate the transformation and upgrading of the construction industry and accelerate the construction of an ecological city, the reporter learned from the Zhoukou Housing and Urban-rural Development Bureau that Zhoukou City will fully implement the development goals and key tasks of prefabricated buildings, make scientific layouts, and accelerate the development of prefabricated buildings.

The prefabricated building refers to the building assembled on the site with prefabricated structures. The development of prefabricated buildings can not only shorten the construction period, but also give birth to new industries. It is a revolution in construction methods featuring water saving, material saving, energy saving, environmental protection and high efficiency. In order to speed up the implementation of the opinions and policies to support Henan Province's vigorous development of prefabricated buildings, in accordance with the requirements of the provincial and municipal governments, newly established affordable housing projects and government and state-owned investment new projects should adopt prefabricated construction technology. New commercial housing projects with a total construction area of more than 100,000 square meters, and new commercial and office public construction projects with a total construction area of more than 30,000 square meters or a single building area of more than 20,000 square meters shall be constructed with prefabricated construction technology. Assembled technology shall be adopted for the underground comprehensive pipe gallery. Encourage villages and towns to promote prefabricated buildings in stages, regions and types, and increase the implementation ratio of prefabricated buildings year by year.

Since Zhoukou City started the construction of the pilot project of prefabricated buildings, through continuous exploration and advancement, the development momentum is promising. Up to now, Zhoukou City has a number of prefabricated construction industry bases, and basically formed a working mechanism of market leadership, government promotion, technical support, industrial alliances, and social supervision. In 2020, the newly-started prefabricated building area in Zhoukou City is about 220,600 square meters, which has successfully completed the tasks assigned by the Provincial Housing and Urban-rural Development Department.
