Guizhou Province's first prefabricated green building demonstration school completed and opened

Early in the morning, the reporter came to the No. 2 Middle School in Huaxi District, Hongyang Community, Qingxi Road, Huaxi District, Guiyang City, and saw that teachers and students wearing masks lined up consciously and went through temperature monitoring and registration at the gate of the newly completed school. Huaxi No. 2 Middle School is the first prefabricated green building demonstration school in Guizhou Province, located on the south side of Dajiang Road, Huaxi District, Guiyang City. It covers a total area of 25 acres, with a total construction area of 20,108 square meters, of which the total construction area above ground is 12,300 square meters, and the underground construction area is 9010.80 square meters, including teaching buildings, comprehensive buildings, sports fields and other buildings. China State Construction Technology Group Co., Ltd. adopts the EPC general contracting and matching construction method for integrated construction.

During the construction period of Huaxi No. 2 Middle School, it received extensive attention from the local government and all walks of life. The leaders of Guiyang City and Huaxi District have supervised the battle on the front line for many times, coordinated to solve the problems in school construction, and gave full support in the aspects of land acquisition and demolition, and the settlement of group labor conflicts. All parties involved in the construction went all out. China State Construction Technology Group organized technical construction forces to use prefabricated PC components for factory production, on-site hoisting and installation, implementing smart construction sites, and promoting the application of new building technologies, new processes, and new materials. Among them, the school complex adopts a steel frame structure, and the teaching building tower adopts an assembled integral reinforced concrete frame structure—a prefabricated steel and concrete composite structure building system, with an assembly rate of 77%. It has realized the lean construction, green construction, smart construction, and fully assembled construction of the whole process of the school from design, construction, decoration, and operation and maintenance. It was completed in May 2021, creating the first prefabricated green building demonstration school in Guizhou Province.

The teachers and students of the seventh grade of Huaxi No. 2 Middle School happily told reporters: “The newly built school is very beautiful, with complete teaching and sports facilities, just like our new home. We will start our junior high school three years of happily studying and living here."
